Classes: The Specialists of Kaldori

Classes, of course, are an integral part of the Dungeons and Dragons gameplay mechanics. They also make up the “who” of the fantasy world and help define the structure of those that live within it.

Obviously, our fantasy world has some of its own “special” characters, which are what we’ve decided to create new classes from. Indulge us for a moment as we geek out about a couple of our favourites in some quick summaries!

Please note: These are only four of our eight original classes..
We also have the Blight Mage, Ignatus, Blood Hunter and Kaelin!

The shadowblade is the first class we created and is embedded rather deeply into the lore of the world.
Shadowblades are extremely fast and dexterous assassins, who are just as good in melee combat as they are at attacking from the shadows. They can instantaneously move to a space in front of them, leaving only a puff of smoke behind. Their soul rests in a spark (literally) in their eyes, which bursts into a bright flame when a shadowblade is enraged or pumped to get into battle. People are deathly afraid of their mythic rage.

Some of their new abilities include:
Shadowstep
- The shadowblade and step through space instantaneously, attacking as they move.
Mythic Fear - The shadowblade can burst into flames, terrifying those around it as it unleashes fear.
Shadow Archetypes - Choosing between monk and rogue, the shadowblade can specialise in martial arts or stealth.

They also have some new spells!
Hail of Fire
- Cast a rain of fire that bursts from your ranged weapon or ammunition.
Hammerspace - Pull a duplicate of any item you’ve held in the last 24 hours out of hammerspace and into the material plane.
Sparks of the Fallen - Conjure the souls of fallen shadowblades to the material plane and have them fight alongside you.
Shadow Mark - Allow any shadowblade to track the prey you mark.

Also known as the Contractors!

Genetically mutated witch hunters, cirven are protectors of the common folk, wandering the realms searching for evil witches and the like, often taking contracts for monster hunting on their travels. Their genetic mutations make them faster and stronger, and they have extreme knowledge of monsters, especially demonkin and witches. Their genetic mutations leave them with white hair and heterochromia, often with the colours red-blue, white-black, purple-green, and blue-yellow. Occasionally, it leaves them blind, with white eyes; forcing them to learn new methods of witch hunting.

Some of their new abilities include:
Mutation
- The cirven’s mutations change on whether or not the process blinded them, which affects their senses.
Cirven Academy - Depending on the academy the Cirven is from, they get given a new ability.
Witch Hunter - Some specialist abilities that only work against witches.

They also have some new spells!
Witness
- Temporarily pull the soul of a creature back into its body.
Sunder of Darkness - Separate the good from the evil in an object or creature.
Temper Space - Trap a creature in a small magical space that they can’t move through without damaging themselves.

Aermores are the demigods of Kaldori!

Aermores are the demigods of Kaldori!

Sent from the Old Gods to unfortunate parents, aermores are air and time manipulators. Essentially demigods; they are protectors of the four realms and are very kind and powerful folk, often sacrificing themselves for others.

Some of their new abilities include:
Time Weaver
- The aermore can slow or completely pause time in a space in front of them.
Air Weaver - The aermore can push, pull or lift objects, creatures, or even themselves using the air that surrounds them.
Celestial Evocation - By channeling two of the eight celestial siblings, Death and Fate, the aermore can conjure foresight through their eyes.

They also have some new spells!
Rapture
- Split two points in time between the present and the past to look at how something came to be.
Asphyxiate - Reduce the amount of air in a space, or forcefully pull it out of a creatures lungs.
Temporal Blessing - Bless a creatures weapon, allowing it to instead attack the soul rather than the physical body.

Also known as the Daemon Hunters!

Inquisitors are the researchers and hunters of demonkin and the Greater Demons, known to the Inquisitors as Daemons. They are usually heavily armoured warriors, but there are a few scouts among them that spy on the demonkin; watching their movements and studying their patterns, waiting to strike. Inquisitors are powerful when it comes to fighting demonkin, with the Old Gods at their side. They are great healers and even better warriors with heavy weapons. There are few Inquisitors left, with only one chapterhouse remaining. The player gets to choose between being either a Retributor or a Scout.

Some of their new abilities include:
Kranons Blessing
- The inquisitors are blessed with advantages against fiends and other celestials.
Arms of Lazereth - A retributor inquisitor can grow 4 temporal arms that aid in combat.
Temporal Stealth - A scout inquisitor can hide from those on the material plane by partially shifting into the Ethereal plane while staying still.

They also have some new spells!
Restraints of a Celestial
- Temporarily paralyze a fiend or celestial being.
Dilate Blessing - Expand the blessing that is bestowed onto inquisitors to those around you, but weaken it.
Return Evil or Good - Returns an evil creature to the Under Realm, or a good creature to the Material Plane.
